OW Clubhouse closed for forseeable future

Posted 17th March 2020

Good morning all,

We have taken the decision to close the clubhouse for the remainder of this week, with a plan to review our position next week on remaining closed or opening on weekends only.

This decision has not been taken lightly but with the best interests of all the members of the associated Sports clubs.

Members Update - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak

Following the guidance released by the Government and Public Health England, we ask that all of our members adhere to the government’s latest medical advice.

For your information, it advises you to self-isolate at home, regardless of travel history or contact with confirmed cases, if you have:

A new continuous cough and/or
High temperature (of 37.8 degrees centigrade or higher)
It’s very important that you do not enter our club with the above symptoms.

We would also recommend to those members over 70 or with underlying health issues to refrain from using the club when it is very busy to avoid close contact with other people and risk of infection.

However, if you are feeling fit and well, our club is currently operating as normal and we would love you to continue your normal social routine with us. Staying healthy and fit is more important than ever at the moment.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will take all appropriate measures necessary to protect our members, guests and employees. Keeping everyone safe and healthy is our main priority.

We reiterate the Governments advice on personal hygiene during this outbreak and respectively ask members and their guests to follow that advice;

How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus

Do

Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
Always wash your hands when you get home or into work
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards
Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
Don't

Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
We thank you for your patience and support during this difficult and challenging period. We hope you and your families stay healthy and safe during this time.

Please can I ask that the news regarding the clubhouse if sent to your members and I will update you all on a weekly basis.
