CASH PRIZES FOR YOUNGSTERS AGED 11-25 COURTESY OF THE JACK PETCHEY FOUNDATION

Posted 27th August 2020

To celebrate its 21st birthday the Jack Petchey Foundation has made a gift of £500 to a number of clubs and organisations “to spend on something fun and exciting”. Old Wilsonians’ Lawn Tennis Club has received one of these generous gifts – and we are now able to announce how it will be spent. As always, the Jack Petchey Foundation seeks to benefit youngsters aged from 11 to 25. So our gift will be used to provide some prize money to players in the 6 box leagues that are now running for youngsters aged up to 18, and we will be running a one-day competition for those aged 18 – 25 on Sunday 13 September where those reaching the final stages will get cash prizes too. Please look out for the targeted emails those who are eligible are receiving now.

We are also looking at whether we can get sufficient interest in an event for girls only – to encourage more of them to enjoy the competition that they are often reluctant to enter!
