President : Jasper Gundry-White July 2019

Dear all,

This is my second year of holding the honour of being President of Old Wilsonians CC and it is my pleasure to let you know about this year’s President’s day to be held on Sunday the 21st July.

This season we have not got off the best of starts, but we have turned the corner and results have improved for all our teams.

This year’s event will be the same format as last year, when the club will play a round robin Twenty 20 tournament during the day.
The first game wlll start at 11am, with the President’s XI playing ether a chairman’s XI or our Club captain’s XI.

You are invited to join the Kendrick family at the unveiling of a memorial bench in honour of Mike Kendrick
This will be done at the conclusion of the 1st Game to allow the whole club to gather round Ian Forbes tree and hear Neil Kendrick and family say a few words. Mike’s ashes will be laid in the garden at this time.
Timings of the following matches will be as follows

The 2nd game we will plan to start a little earlier than last year at 2pm with the Club Captain’s XI v The Chairman’s XI
The last and final game will take place at approx. 6pm
There will also be food available all day, with a BBQ running all day and a traditional cricket tea around 5pm. And of course, we will have the cocktail bar running in the President’s Lounge again this year along with the bar open all day.

We will hold a raffle and as per last year, a fantasy league and other betting events for you to join in with.

President’s day will be followed by our traditional cricket week, along with another Twenty20 tournament with a champagne breakfast preceding Thursday’s games. Then we have our Sponsor Ginger Indian Restaurant providing lunch and dinner for our guest. Tickets are available for the day. Always a ‘champagne’ day as far as the cricket is concerned, which this year will feature the following clubs, Bromley Common, and OD CUACO, both clubs competing in the Kent League, Division 1 and Division 2 respectively .

All are invited and it would be a delight to see you on Sunday 21st July to catch up with both old friends, & new & have a great time.
Yours sincerely,
