Ian Pilgrim Rest In Peace

Ian Pilgrim "IP" passed away yesterday night . He will be sorely missed . Condolences to Denise, Craig, David, Evan  Raya , Micky & the rest of the Pilgrim family our thoughts are with you all.

IP was the face of the Old Wilsonians , he was probably the first person who greeted you when you first came to the club , He cared for people and worried about them . He was a lovely sincere man & he was fun .

He played both football & cricket for the club . He was a talented sportsman , i remember him picking up sports person of the year at St Saviours school in Herne Hill . Ian  played for the 1st Xi at both sports at Wilsons School & Old Wilsonians . Where he made his mark  was bringing a number of young players through . He was like a big brother & would listen, cajole & point you in the right direction ,  He was also part of the social crowd & played sunday football for the Weebles, ran numerous football tours . He also took over the running of the club bar . IP became  President of the Football Club, Cricket Club & Old Wilsonians Association , He with Denise set up the Colts section & is the reason the Cricket club is in such good health today. Denise became President & Ian Life President (which was lovely & well derserved)of the cricket club.

Sometimes called Boycie due to his moustache and likeness John Challis (actor from Only Fools and Horses) , He too had his catch phrases such as "CCF -Club Comes First", "Win or lose have a booze . if you draw have some more "& lastly "truth or lie" .He was larger than life,

I've spent many an hour crying with laughter over some little observation or stupidity we have got up to. I've woken up with a park fence in my house thanks to that man ,Laughed as he nearly flew off the roof of a car . Willy danced , tabogganed on various tours . He was great company & i will miss him & his humour . RIP IP

there will be a minutes applause in memory of IP this saturday prior to the game at 12.30 at hayes , also 1pm at Hawes down & Ex-Blues .
