Welcome to the Cricket Colts Section

The Old Wilsonians’ Colts section was formed in 1997 and plays a very important role in the continued growth and success of Old Wilsonians’ Cricket Club; over half of the Club’s first XI senior team includes former colts. The Club actively encourages all youngsters who are keen, to develop his or her cricketing interests and skills.

Our Coaches are ECB qualified which means they also have passed a first aid course and have DBS clearance; our Head Coach is a former colt himself and is passionate about improving the standard of cricket at the Club whilst maintaining the Old Wilsonians’ ethos and ensuring that every child that wants to play gets to play. In keeping with the ECB’s Clubmark Status, all of our other volunteers, who will regularly come into contact with the colts, from match managers to umpires and scorers, are also DBS cleared.

In 2024 and for the very young cricketers Old Wilsonians’ is again running the ECB All Star and Dynamo Programmes. For the older colts the Club has entered two U11, two U13 and two U15 teams into the North Kent Junior League; the matches will be played during the week or on Sunday mornings. Playing on Saturday in one of our five senior sides is also an option for those that are old enough and ready and willing to do so.

Sunday cricket in a friendly fixture or in the Development League Team is a further option.A number of our Colts will also be playing representative cricket this season with the Bromley Bulldogs, a continuing tradition of which the Club is very proud.

At the end of every season we recognise the achievements of our colts and in 2023 our award winners were
