Old Wilsonians 253 for 6, Ventnor 130 for 8
Old Wilsonians took advantage of their trip to the Isle of Wight to record a convincing 123 run victory in this 35 overs a side game against Ventnor
Batting first the OWS got off to a splendid start, with Velson Devarajulu (86) and Syd Sherlock (31) putting on 126 for the first wicket with, Louis Pryor (55 n.o) and Dan Seston (26) also making useful contributions, Toby Noyes, 2 for 18, being the most successful of the home bowlers
In reply only opener Ben Davies (52 n.o) seemed to know how to cope with the visiting bowlers with leg spinner David Pilgrim, 3 for 6, and Andrew Pomering, 2 for 30, doing most of the damage for the OWsBromley Common 4th Xl 133 for 9. Old Wilsonians 4th Xl 137 for 5
Old Wilsonians got the better of this pre league friendly fixture against local rivals Bromley Common at Oakley Rd.
Batting first the hosts lost three early wickets but Jack Williams (28) and Harrison Johns (23) then restored some order before Sub Subramanian (12 n.o) Wilbur Stagg (16) and Rayner Chaterjee (4 n.o) ensured that they used all of their 40 overs , Thomas Smith, 2 for 17, Oscar Rushton, 2 for 25 and Teddy Burnett, 2 for 31, being the pick of the OW bowlers
The Old Wilsonian reply got off to a good start thanks to an opening partnership of 48 between Noah Doherty (16) and Chethan Kamat (48), and although they then lost quick wickets an unbeaten sixth wicket partnership of 52 between Thomas Smith (25 n.o) and Nathan Carpenter (28 n.o) saw them record a comfortable five wicket victory with over 10 overs to spare
