Old Wilsonians 205 for 8 declared The Forty Club 122

WOW! What a treat; a game of timed cricket, i.e. with a draw facility, two highly competent umpires and two scorers and a traditional cricket tea
Batting first Old Wilsonians made what could be described as a 'generous declaration" although it could be argued that skipper Shehan Sivaranjan judged to perfection the strength of his team as George Castle (36), Greg Smith (31), Eoin Matthews (51 n.o) and the skipper himself (51) saw them declare on 205 for 8
Alok Jain, 4 for 52, was the most successful of the visiting bowlers, with Ashwani Arora and David Steele both picking up two wickets apiece
In reply The Forty Club's innings never really got going and although Ian Reppengal (37) and Simon Burton (28) enabled them to reach 96 for 3, they then lost seven wickets for just 26 runs, with Syd Sherlock, 3 for 17 and George Castle. 2 for 10, doing most of the damage

Sevenoaks Oaks Vine 2nd Xl 118 Old Wilsonians 1st X1 119 for 3

Having lost two early wickets Sevenoaks never recovered, despite a valiant third wicket stand of 51 between William Deacon (31) and Charlie Williams (30) and a last ditch effort from Hugo Cooper Fogarty (11) and Matt Dickerson (4 n.o) and they were bowled out for 118 by a rampant Old Wilsonians side
Andrew Pomering was virtually unplayable at times, picking up 4 wickets for just 24 runs in his ten overs, ably assisted by Elliot Bettridge and Harry Williams, who took two wickets apiece, with Syd Sherlock taking four catches and executing a smart stumping as the league leaders were bowled out in 26.2 overs
The visitors took just 96 balls to get the runs required for victory with the seemingly tireless Pomering (23) and Bettridge (25 n,o) showing that they can bat as well as bowl with, Louis Pryor (41) and Mahith Perera (22 n.o) taking full advantage of the short leg-side boundary

Roebucks 2nd Xl 250 for 7, Old Wilsonians 2nd Xl 245 for 9

In a tense finish Roebucks were victorious by just 5 runs in this game against local rivals Old Wilsonians.
Batting first Roebucks were indebted to Jacob King (68), Alastair Ramsey (43), Mayank Patel (37) and Tusher Patel (25 n,o) for the majority of their runs to finish on a commendable 250 for 7 from their 45 overs, with Siva Rajan, Joe Jukes and Doug Forbes all taking two wickets for the OWs
The latter's reply got off to a fine start, with openers Cameron Jones (62) and Steve Blunt (34) putting on 96 for the first wicket, after which Josh Merchant (20), Dan Nichols (63) and Ali Hasan Butt (22) continued the good work and the result could have gone either way at the start of the last over, Mayank Patel, 3 for 65 and Satwinder Dahliwal, 2 for 39 being the stars with the ball for the visitors

Old Wilsonians 3rd Xl 200 for 4, Dulwich 5th Xl 201 for 4

This was a day to be a batsman, with over 400 runs scored at more than 5 an over and only 8 wickets being taken
Batting first Old Wilsonians were indebted to Kevin Carruthers (40), Barrie Frampton (45) and George Castle (74 n.o) as they scored exactly 200 from their 40 overs, a total they must have been pleased with
However, Dulwich were more than equal to the task as Ali Imtiaz (45), Anthony Joseph (70) and Rob Steadman-Trenear (39) enabled them to secure a six wicket victory with overs to spare
Not a day to be a bowler, then, although Dylan Ross, 2 for 27 (Dulwich) and Nathan Carpenter, 2 for 33 (Old Wilsonians) can gain some satisfaction from their afternoon's work

Old Wilsonians 4th Xl 142 Ex-Blues 2nd Xl 124

In a low-scoring game Old Wilsonians defeated next door neighbours Ex-Blues by 18 runs
Batting first the OWs found runs difficult to come by, but Alex Forbes (18), Benjamin Rodda (15), Karim Mir (25 n.o) and Roger Nichols (15) did manage valuable contributions as the visiting bowlers - Pawankumar Kushwala, 4 for 18 and Nabil Butt, 2 for 14, in particular, made batting difficult for the hosts
The Ex-Blues reply was dominated by opener Paul Ryder (60), but none of his team mates posed any major fears for the home bowlers, with Paul Jenkins, 3 for 31, Karim Mir, 3 for 31 and Roger Nichols. 2 for 6, bowling their side to victory

Bexleyheath Sunday Development 243 for 8, Old Wilsonians 222 for 9

A fourth wicket stand of 128 between Sam McLaren-George (118) and Charlie Monk (76) was the highlight of Bexleyheath's innings in this Sunday Development game against Old Wilsonians, with only one of their other batsmen making it to double figures
The OWs also had a big stand, one of 92 for the second wicket between Syd Sherlock (33) and Ed Castle (47), with other useful contributions coming from Andrew Pomering (30), George Castle (22) and Dan Nichols (20), whilst Bexleyheath's Mustafa Saeed, 3 for 26, was the star bowler of the game
An entertaining game played in an excellent spirit, which augers well for the future
